I'm at only around 1700 miles, did proper breakin (well good enough.. I did punch it once or twice from 40 at ~300 miles) and I'm about a half mile away from home and I notice it's driving a little weak, so I hit the gas down about half way to make sure I'm not just thinking it and most definitely there is a loss in power. And it seems to be almost shaking a very little bit. So I pull it into the garage and I'm noticing a slight whistle type sound, fairly high pitch somewhere upfront. I rev it a little and everything seemed smooth so I turn it off. An hour later I go back out and start it and it's almost wobbling and you can hear the squeak and I try to back out and it shakes even more so I pull it back forward and I hear a screech as I do so. I put it in park and it's just sitting there wobbling and squealing. Ok so I leave it sit for an hour and check the oil level. It appears to be good (in the top of the rough part of the tester? that is good level?) and clean. What do you guys think? This is not cool

Other than bringing your call your vette to the dealer for inspection (preferably by tow) I can't give you any advice. Hopefully, others will chime in.
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (Patches)
Back when I had a conical filter in place of the stock air box, it "fell off" after I forgot to tighten it once. After my son and I made an "EASE" run data logging, the car started to buck and did not have any power. He opened the hood and shook his head. The filter was laying on the bottom of the shroud! It does not run good w/o an air filter! We had shook lose the filter during a high speed acceleration run.
I have since changed out the conical with the Blackwing and am glad I did. I would guess, unless you have a failure in the electrical's somewhere, you have a big leak somewhere in the intake input.
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (Patches)
Check the intake assembly (filter box, MAF, and airbridge) to make sure everything is sealed and tight.
I opened the filter box (2 release hatches) and pulled out the filter and it looked ok, put it back in place.. I checked what I thought would be anywhere connecting on the airbridge and everything looked tight. What is the MAF? Any pictures of specific areas to check? It would make sense that it's an air problem hence the hissing and it is so new.. but it could be electrical/ignition related to. But if it was wouldn't I get an error code? I know my Jeep does the second I have an ignition problem.
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (RPOZ4Z)
Ok well yeah I tried everything air wise. Now when it actually starts (very hard to get started) I cannot touch the gas as that does nothing or kind of makes it bog, my check engine light is on but it doesn't run long enough so I don't know if it stays steady or blinks, there is a nasty screeching sound, and well this thing isn't going anywhere by itself now. UGH! :mad  :cry
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (jdetar)
Sounds like some unmetered air is getting in somewhere. You should take it to the dealer, but you may want to grab the codes that the computer set to help you understand what is going on. Follow these instructions https://www.corvetteforum.com/techtips/viewsubtopic.php?SubTopicID=25&TopicID=1 , you will not have to start the car. You can then lookup the code on the net and get some indication of what is going wrong.
BTW, MAF = mass airflow meter. It sits between the air filter and the throttle body (3"black tube with a 6-7 wire connector on the outside), and is used to measure the amount of air that the motor is using. The system relies heavily on what this sensor reads, since it is used in almost all of the fueling calculations.
The first one is engine misfire and the others are like lost communications with various things. It sounds like an electrical problem hence all the error codes. What is this misfiring doing to my engine though? Did I do any bad permanent damage?
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (jdetar)
The codes with the "H" at the end are HISTORY codes. The one with the HC shows it happened before "History", plus is a "Current" problem. So, concentrate on that one first.
The PCM means Powertrain Control Module. The 0300 should be preceeded by another letter, probably a "P".
It is reporting a misfire.
Running a vehicle out of fuel could cause a misfire that sets that code.
A restricted fuel filter could set that code if it causes a misfire.
Excessive vibration could cause a misfire DTC.
You could have an erratic crankshaft position sensor signal.
Your sparkplugs could be gas fouled.
A catalyst misfire could be occuring.
It could be many other things.
This could be a very simple problem, but the diagnosis is not. Without a service manual and scan tool, it's not very likely you're going to track the problem unless it is very obvious.
Was there anything that happened JUST BEFORE the problem started?
Good luck, but the dealer is better prepared to fix it.

:yesnod: Back to the Dealership... BTW - You can punch it with zero miles... About the only thing that might need some breakin are the brakes and tranny (may needs a few heat cycles).
Re: Help! my new '03 is having some serious issues (brewtoo)
The complexity of these cars make it very difficult to diagnosis anything unless you are an experienced mechanic. Take the car to the dealer and get it fixed.

Hi...Is the Vette out of gas?
Inaccurate fuel guage?
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! :D I added 3 gallons of fuel from the spare tank on my Jeep, checked all the spark plug wires, pulled the fuel rail covers and made sure everything was tight, checked all the fuses, and after a few seconds of trying to start it the thing lights up and runs smooth as before. My gas tank was reading 1/4 full before I added the fuel and before I've run it down as low as the reserve tank and never had a problem. Why would my gas gauge all of a sudden be off? Or was it coincedence and maybe some wire was slightly off and I bumped it back on by pushing everything in.
I think I'll take it to the dealer anyways this week to have them check the calibration on the fuel gage. That sucks. What kind of damage was done to my engine do you guys think?
