I’m about to buy some dynatech longtube headers off craigslist for my 02 z06. My question is, what else do I need besides the headers for the install? I have a b&b bullet axle back and everything else stock. I don’t need an xpipe I can just use the stock h pipe correct? I know my cats are coming off but he said I’ll need to modify the exhaust to fit them “like all headers” , what exactly does that mean, cut my exhaust? This is what I’m getting. Thanks!!
You’ll need an x pipe. LT’s don’t bolt up to the stock h pipe. You’ll also need o2 extensions and you’ll have to tune out the 02’s or you’ll have a check engine light.

As was already mentioned, yes, you do need an xpipe.

Means he knows exactly nothing about headers.
First, I would not do a catless xpipe. There's no reason to, and the car stinks when you don't have em. Hi-flow cats will not restrict your exhaust at all. I actually prefer the sound with em as well.
Next, no, there's no cutting to do. The new Xpipe that you'll buy will have ends to mate up to the new headers and the old cat-back. Once you have that, they're a bolt on project.
