I had an employee come into my office and said my car was making a weird noise? I went out to the parking lot and nothing was wrong and she said it must have stopped. At the end of the day I noticed my horn no longer worked. I did some research on the internet and others said to check the fuse and the resister. Fuse was good, changed out with a spare and resister was good, heard it click, changed it anyway. Still no horn. Any idea. Side note. My alarm it set up to flash lights and blow horn when I lock vehicle.
Happy Thanksgiving and hope is all is well in Cape Coral !!...does the horn work when you lock the car ??...that will narrow down the troubleshooting a bit...the BCM grounds the control side of the circuit when you use the FOB...first thing is you can swap out the horn relay (relay 36) with another relay like the fuel pump which sits caddy corner from the horn relay...see if that works...I helped a Forum member with his horn issue this summer and it was the horn that was bad...I should have done a YouTube video on the troubleshooting but he was pressed for time. Enclosed is the wiring for an '01 !!...the highlighted area would be the area of concern if the horn works with the FOB !!...
don't know if you're good with a multi meter but that would help in the diagnosis. There is an access panel just inboard of the right front tire where you can get to the horn. What resistor are you referring to ???

already changed the relay, number 36, sorry not resister, lol. No, the horn no longer blows when I lock the vehicle. Fuse is good as well.
If I were you I'd yank the horn out (it's easier to remove the bolt holding the horn bracket in and then remove the connector) and make yourself 2 jumper wires and jump in from the battery terminals and see if the horn works...if it works then you would work back through the circuit and see if you have some bad wiring or a horn membrane !!...if you have a 12 volt test light that will help !!

where is the horn located in the engine compartment? I tried looking. Didn’t see it.
Inboard of the right front tire underneath the car...have to crawl underneath...you'll see a plastic panel with slots in it...horn should be on the other side of that !!...sorry I didn't take any pictures when I worked on that members horn !!
I'm not very good with reading electrical layouts. Does the diagram you posted indicate that the horn is fed power from the horn ring, or is it fed ground from the horn ring? Thanks!!
Dan, power is fed through the "control" side of the horn relay then through the horn switches and then it finds a ground at G200...you have 12 volts on one side of the horn switch and a ground on the other side...once it finds ground the control side of the relay is energized and then closes the feed side (on the right side of the relay) and then the horn sounds IF you have a good load side feed and a good ground !!
The B2527 condition for setting this DTC is the BCM detects a short to ground or open in the horn relay control circuit for approx. 2 seconds !!...below is troubleshooting tree for this DTC !!
