I’m currently in the process of changing this sensor in the steering column (yes, I have power telescoping). I did not pull my column lock bypass prior to starting. So here is my question:
which wires require 12v to lock the column? And of the two, which gets “+” current and which gets “-“ current? I’ve attached a pic of the wire that actuates the column lock. Thank you. Column lock wire to steering column.
By the way, I’m pretty good at wrenching. I’ve read all the posts about how easy this is. In my own opinion, if I had a do over, it would go to the shop. The wires are a multitude to disconnect and the harnesses at least on my car are running in the small space under the column. I have to be super careful not to pinch any. The bolts at the firewall are a pain to get to and god knows how I’m going to get the right one back on. Anyways, just my $.02 on this project. A few pics for your enjoyment.
