Service ABS/Traction Control warning
I recently received the Service ABS/Traction Control warning in my '01 Z06. The last time I had this issue my mechanic said he checked the car and found nothing needed attention. Has anyone else seen this and what, if anything, is the remedy?

Traction Control Warning
It’s my understanding that the ECM mounted on Antilock brake module has a history of failing cold solder points. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. It should leave codes you can pull to see if this is the cause. There are MANY people on this forum that know far more about this issue than me, perhaps one of those members will step in and provide you with their opinions. Good luck. Bob

Run the On Board Diagnostics using the DIC controls on the side of the IP and see what codes are shown. Since you have those two messages that means the failure is common to both functions. Did you get a Service AH warning as well?
Without the codes you don't know where to look.

My wife's 03 will get those same codes from time to time, and 90% of the time it's after the car has been sitting for a long time. If she drives it often, we never see them.

The remedy is to get another mechanic. The one you are using now knows nothing about your C5. See Bill's reply in post #3.
