C5 Memory Driver's Convenience Package" (option AAB) vs. audio system changes
I bought the car to enjoy its fabulous power-train, handling, and performance...not for its audio potential (though, I wouldn't mind having Bluetooth conveniences for hands free calling and streaming of music, but that is a different topic of conversation than this thread).
My car has the "Memory Driver's Convenience Package" (option AAB). Per the owner's manual: "MEMORY can store and recall the settings for the...radio presets, tone, volume, playback mode (AM/FM, tape or CD), last displayed station...".
I assume that most if not all of the Memory Package audio functions, as described in the manual, will be lost if the factory radio unit is replaced with an after-market one (example: Kenwood, Alpine, etc.) even when using OEM factory wiring harness adapters (so that no factory wires are cut). Please advise. Thanks!
