So I just picked up a 2001 base coupe with 86000 miles. I’m just got all the parts to rebuild the drivers seat the bottom shot. While I have it apart I’m going to add heaters to the seats. My question is where did anyone who has done this grabbed power and ground. I have had the dash out when I did the double din install and reverse camera. I want to find a keyed circuit without doing a fuse tap if I can. Thanks for info in advance any photos of switch’s mounted would be cool I’m debating where to put them.

There is an unused harness (except '04) in the passenger's footwell that has 3 wires (yellow: switched via Fuse 11, orange: always hot via Fuse 7 and black: ground).
Where are you planning on putting the heater switches? There's a member on here that 3D prints a replacement for the ashtray. I used that and put my Corbeau seat heater switches and the AUX port for the stereo in there.
His name is Dansavage on here and he sells them through the shapeways site. I can't link anything as he's not a forum vendor to my knowledge. Just google "C5 3D printed ashtray" and you'll easily find your way there.
Just be aware that there appears to be a lot more room on the front than there actually is on the back to stuff everything in there.
I'd take a pic but the car is hibernating right now. That google search will bring up lots of pics though if you decide to go that route.
I’m thinking about putting them with the active handling button. Road Runner will you post a pic if yours. I don’t want to put then with the ashtray since I did the double din the space is filled.

In this location the switches can easily be accessed by both the driver or the passenger
So I decided to go a different direction with the switches. My active handling bezel was very brittle when I opened it. Thank you all for the help. The car Drivers side Driver side Passenger side Passenger side
