Default Radio does not shut off

Recent 2004 C5 issue where you shut off car, radio is still on, you open the driver door and the radio is supposed to shut off. In my case, not always. To solve the issue, I reach over and open the passenger door just slightly and sure enough, the radio immediately shuts off. Obviously something in driver door that is acting up..

Any ideas? Others suggest removing and reinstalling the fuse under the passenger footrest area but who wants to do that every time I want to get out of my car?

Sounds like a faulty/sticking switch on that door - I'm guessing the interior lights don't go on when that door opens either...?

When you close the driver door and press the unlock or lock button on the Fob does the radio go off? If so, check the wiring in the door. Do a Forum search, there are a few threads on fixing door wiring/connections.

Thank you for the suggestions. I did not pay much attention to if the interior lights go on or not. Nor did I try the lock/unlock button but will try those. I just went out to the vehicle, opened the driver door and the light on the rear view mirrod does go on. I try to see where the electrical switch is in the door but did not readily see it. Thinking of the old style in my C3.

I will try to look into this on the weekend, thank you all!
