Has anyone had success installing the high beam from Beamtech into the stock C5 headlight? I attempted to this in my 2004 but the actuator arm to lift and lower the headlight, hits the heatsink on the bulb.
I don't know if this will help you but I have the Beamtech led's in the high beams of the ACA headlights. With the heat sinks vertical they barely clear the actuator arms. Were your heat sinks installed vertically? I can't remember if I had to loosen a screw to orient the heat sinks vertical.
When installed the lower end of the heatsink is aimed at about 8:00. There is a set screw that I took out and turned the lockring but there is only 1 hole for the screw to fit into. I contacted Beamtech and they asked if I had any pictures so they can check. I may have to take the headlight apart to reinstall the bulb for them. If I do, I will post a picture here as well.
This shows the interference between the actuator and the back of the heatsink. The only way I could get the bulb into the socket was to dissasemble the actuator then insert the bulb. After doing that, I could not re-assemble the actuator due to the interference. From what I can tell, the high beam bulb from Beamtech will not fit into a C5 and be able to close the headlight.

Ah, yes, only one hole for the set screw so I just left the screw out and aligned the heat sink so that it just clears the actuator. The orientation of the heat sink hasn't changed in 20 months.
That certainly is good to know and a little surprising to me. I would have expected normal vibration would allow them to turn. I am waiting to see what Beamtech has to say about this before putting them back in. Besides, it turned cold and will remain so for a few more days. Did you have to adjust the headlight assemblies up or down or was the alignment ok?
I got an email today from Beamtech with the address for returning the bulbs and getting a refund. I am disappointed that they don't fit properly, but more disappointed that they either aren't aware of the problem with the 9005s or are not admitting they know it. I will be paying the shipping cost to return.
