Just got a Torch Red 2001 C5 today after work. On the way home, my gas gauge plummeted to the empty position and the CHECK GAUGES lit up. I’m going to try Techron, maybe that’ll help.
First and foremost, I was almost home, tried to turn on the high beams, nothing. Not even a click from the turn signal stalk. Bad dimmer switch in the column maybe? Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks.

The multifunctional switch is probably bad. I had exactly the same symptoms and replaced the entire assembly which solved the problem. Not difficult at all.

Thanks for the help. I see they’re not too expensive as well
Best results will be if you let the fuel get to below 1/4, and use a large bottle of the Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner 20 oz. I believe (not the lighter duty Techron fuel injector mix). Fill it all, and let it sit for a day or so to soak.
If you just filled the tank, then it dropped to zero, it will probably come back in after a few miles as the level drops a bit.

Put a 20 oz. bottle of Techron Fuel System Cleaner in it Saturday night when I filled it up. So far so good.

I had this trouble recently on my 01. Inside the multifunction switch is a connector that lost contact. Had to remove the switch, disassemble it and bend the contact a bit. If you check the circuit you can determine if yours is the same issue. Contact me if you need help with disassembly or need the schematic.
