What did the test for drain or current draw reveal, should be around 25ma. When you say alarm you are referring to the cars orginal equipment alarm or have you installed some after market alarm? Two weeks is pushing it without starting the car or not having a battery tender on it.
The C5 needs to be plugged in to a battery tender if it's going to sit for more than a week. They all have enough parasitic draw to discharge a battery if left too long. It's a kind of hidden feature.
Is the battery a flooded lead acid type battery? Did you happen to check voltage when you could not start car? I hope you got the battery replaced and did not just charge back up. Not sure when juice was all gone but it should be replaced, because it should sulfated up pretty bad within 2 weeks . If still using same battery I would check for open cells and check for dead cells. I use a CTEK US 7002 charger and love it, and I leave it plugged in when not driving 24/7.
It's not likely the battery is ruined due to a single discharge. Letting a battery go dead, that is drop below 10.5 volts, does take some life out of it but you should be able to recharge it and get a couple more years of service out of it. A dead battery should be recharged with a dedicated battery charger until it's fully charged as soon as possible. Don't rely on the car's alternator to recharge the battery. An alternator is a better maintainer than charger and it would take many miles of driving for the alternator to do the job. Automotive starter batteries don't like to be discharged, so try to drive the car more often or put a quality battery tender on it when it's not in use. Good luck with it.
Yeah, just fully charge it and then put a maintainer on it. I've been buying batteries for trucks, tractors, mowers, forklifts, dozers, backhoes, and motorcycles for many years. After a while you get some experience about batteries. Especially new batteries.
As I said, just give it a full charge then keep it on a good MAINTAINER and it will last quite awhile.
These C5's will suck a battery down quicker than just about anything I've ever owner and they really new a good hot one to run right.
Good luck!
