Default Knock Codes

dr8531 , Today 02:22 PM
I had to change out the oil send unit so I went ahead and replace MAP, Camshaft sensor, knocks with harness. After job was complete after driving 30-40 miles check light came on, was both knock sensors. I did replace everything with acdelco except knock material, so I ordered all new again but got acdelco and reinstalled, torqued to 20nm and ran harness straight back with fatest part of harness at manifold. Again both knock codes once again, timing of code pulling is all over the place.

I had no codes prior to initial replacement.

Any ideas on what would cause this?

I did break that cheap plastic evap tube from the firewall to the canister, replaced with fuel hose and hose clamps

Looks like you torqued them right 20nm = 14.75 Lbs. Codes P0327 P0332 ? Is there an C or H after the code ie P0327 H. H stands for history and C is current.

I found the issue, when I removed old ones pieces broke off and I vacuumed the sensor holes but did not look in there assuming I got everything. There was a large piece on there that I found after taking intake off again. But she has not thrown code in past 2 days so I think I am in the clear!

You are now most likely in the clear. Over torquing them makes them too sensitive.

You did not over torque them, but it sounds like you tightened them against something that was not supposed to be in there which would have had the same effect. This was an interesting read and thanks for posting the result.
