Default Catless Z06 P0412 Check Engine Light

Hello all,

I just purchased my first sports car. A 2002 Z06 with the following mods:
AFR 205 heads
LG-G5X3 cam
LG Long Tube Headers
LG Cat Delete
K&N Intake

It is throwing code P0412 Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Solenoid Control Circuit. Is there a way to remove this code?

Thank in advance!

Yes. The tuner should have turned off the DIC for it in the tune assuming it was tuned with those mods. When looking at where your headers bolt to the heads do you see a smaller diameter metal tube coming off of one of the primary tubes? Some headers have this provision and some don't.

I believe that is for clamping the dipstick to, for support. The earlier C5s have a different (and superior, in my opinion) dipstick. The '97-'00 model used GM part# 12562468, '01-'04 used GM part# 12561712. Someone at a well known engine builder in Wixom, Michigan, stole mine. Yes, they replaced it, but with the newer style, because the original style is discontinued, and unavailable. I believe the change started with the '01 models. My original was much easier to read the oil level. There was a reason it came up missing!

The AIR port previously mentioned is the blocked off oval shaped port immediately above your red circle with the two bolts in it.

If those ports are blocked on both sides then the AIR system is not function and that code should have been turned off.

I suspect the pump and valve might still be there and the code was OK because the valve was still connected. Check under the drivers side headlight for a black pump.

Might as well also check the air intake for a hose that comes off after the filter and goes down to the pump that is under the drivers side headlight.

Yes, I did learn that the AIR system, including pump and hoses, was removed from the vehicle by the PO. I understand that the AIR port on the headers have been blocked off as shown. The P0412 code should've been tuned out but I guess it did not.

While I have all of you here, was grinder11 correct in stating that the nub circled in red is for clamping the dipstick to? It seems a bit far away from the dipstick but maybe I'm missing the bracket?

Thanks all!!!

Yes, for a 2001 or earlier dipstick. You have a 2002 and the dipstick bolts to the block, just like in your picture.

Yes, your dipstick is correct. I have updated my post to reflect the '97-2000 part#, and the '01 and up part#.
