Hi Guys,
I'm looking at getting a 2004 Z06 but it seems tire selection is REALLY limited. What are you guys doing for tires?
Thanks!
The 17’s in stock sizes are basically non-existent. I went to 4 18’s with stock Z wheels and love it. A lot of guys running this setup.
I even have 295/35/18’s on all 4 corners of my 04 Z with zero issues. You can buy a set of new Speedlines from House of Wheels and run a staggered set of 275/35-295/35 F/R. I did this in my previous 01 Z.
Define limited there’s all sorts of tires available in stock sizes and they are not really expensive until you start look at sport cup 2’s even then 300 a tire isn’t all that bad!

I'm running stock Z06 wheels on an 03 coupe. Is there any difference in the wheel well clearance in the front or rear? I'd like to get a tire with a slightly taller sidewall for a better ride. I don't track the car so performance is not a real issue. Any suggestions?
I ran 40’s up front on 17’s I wouldn’t see why a 265/ 45 the front wouldn’t clear if the car isn’t dropped in the front ! Good luck even with my 19 in the front I could prob clear a 40 & the the car is lowered !
I got some Continental Extreme Contact Sports in 275/40ZR-17 & 295/35ZR-18 sizes last August. I'm really happy with them. I like to drive pretty hard in the mountains and they have great grip...even in light rain. I haven't had them long so I can't comment on treadwear. They were the only option I could find in performance/summer tires for the stock Z wheels.
went through the same issue as you did OP about a week ago..either you spend $1500ish on summer tires on stock sizes or what i did i went 255/40/17 up front and kept stock 295/35/18 and get the Continental extreme contact DWS at 880ish i have about 100miles on the tires and like them so far
