I agree with hammering on a slightly undersize socket. Before you do, let some WD40 soak for awhile. Then, suggest using a 12 pt socket with an impact wrench...which will have a better chance of breaking the nut loose vs twisting off the stud or rounding off the nut. Good luck!
Kroil is a good penetrating oil for this kind of job.
Works best when you let it sit.
Tapping the frozen pieces with a hammer sometimes helps the oil penetration.
