I have 2 6 speed shifter boxes and neither one has the rubber strip at the bottem, which may help explaine why they are difficult to shift. Can any one get Me the spec's so I can fix this issue?
The shifter box holds the stick shifter and sits in the tunnel held in by 2 bolts in oval rubber bushings. The rubber strip is on the base of the shifter box at the bottem on an angled piece of metal.
I doubt that the lack of the rubber has anything to do with the car being hard to shift. I think the rubber prevents metal to metal contact with the torque tube and noise.

I would think that "hard to shift" issues would be traceable to either an out of adjustment shifter, or a clutch issue.
