Need help on 2000, my power seats have a problem with the 3 switches, the 2 lumber switches and the side bolster switch. Both the driver seat and passenger seat. The larger switch that moves the seat forward and back works. I checked the fuse and it looks good. The 3 switches when pressed make a buzzing sound. Any advice is appreciated.
Do the lumbar and side bolsters inflate? If not then the bladders for these have failed, a common problem.
If they do inflate all is working properly. When you engage one of these switches it turns on a small air pump and engages the proper valve to inflate or deflate the desired bladder.
Sounds like you have either an air pump problem or bladder problem. But it’s strange that it occurred in both seats. Maybe previous owner removed all the bladders.
I had the same problem with both seats in my '99 when I bought it. The nipples where the hoses connect to the bladders have probably disintegrated. This what you'll most likely find... just crumbs.
Not uncommon for both seats not to work. Both of mine did not work. I too did the blood pressure cuff fix. The buzzing noise it the pump motor running to try to inflate (or deflate depending on which way you press the switches) the air bladders. I pulled my motors and tested them to make sure they worked. Both pumps did but as pictured all of the nipples on all of the air bladders were broken off!
No need to remove the seats, real easy job. Here's the original diy thread.. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...l-style-3.html
some of the pictures might not show up anymore, and links to the cuff bladders may be dead since the thread is so old. You'll need 2 adult, and 2 child sized bladders for each seat, and a few tubing connectors.
That's about as far into the seats as you'll need to get. Just unclip the center section and raise it up out of the way.
