Default Headlights pop up with DRL

Problem: Headlights pop up but stay off when the multifunction switch is in DRL mode (1 click up).
Attempts to resolve so far: Replaced both the headlight motors, and the multifunction switch (both worked previously and actually the old ones ended up being fine too).
Other details: I do have led everything - tail lights, headlights, switchback corner lights, interior lights, and the hyper flash harness is installed. This is the same setup I had on my other vette and the pop ups stayed down on DRL mode. The old one being a 2003 c5z and this one a 2002 c5z.

I've noticed if I turn the switch slowly the DRLs come on and pop-ups stay down, but once it clicks into place they pop up. In other threads, it was resolved by either replacing the gear in the headlight motors or replacing the multifunction switch. Any more ideas? Thanks in advance.

Watching thread...same exact issue with 1 click up. My pop ups starting to act up with your same symptoms around same time when my passenger side headlight gear stripped. I have yet to replace it with the brass one, but if it fixes it I'll notify you.

Mine did that as well but my right HL motor was grinding. Replacing the HL motor fixed the problem.

By the way, I did the 1/2 click test and actually turns the cluster lights on and side marker lights WITHOUT opening up the pop up headlights. As soon as I go full 1 click they pop up. Not sure what this behavior confirms yet.

Anyone else familiar with the issue and know of a possible solution other than the ones mentioned in the op?

here's my update

Turned out i had broke the drivers rear side marker plug and water got into the new side marker which caused it to burn out. Sucks but my head lights wont pop up and the fog will not engage and top of it all the dash will not light up when i turn on the low beams or even driving lights.

Oh yeah no rear lights too so driving at night is a big no... I checked just about all the fuses and they seem fine so im assuming it a relay of some sort or the turn signal switch itself.

OP, remember I told you I would get back to you if my brass gears fixed the problem of the headlights going up with one click? Well it did. I replaced both (i only had one broken but decided to upgrade both while I was at it). It took a couple of on/off cycles and problem was fixed. Now they won’t pop up after one click. Not only that but other weird behavior got fixed too, such as they would crack open partially during engine startup. All that got fixed, plus obviously no more gear strip noise. Smooth as new.
