I had the seat recovered on the drivers side and since then, the seat only moved back. Of course it got to the back and made removal difficult, but possible. Now the guy that did the seat cover ordered a switch for the seat. My only question is the preset seat positioning won't work either. Does that run through the switch or does the module under the seat have everything to do with movement? Again, everything worked fine before the recover.
The seat motors are driven through the Seat Control Module under the seat. Whether you use the switches on the seat side or memory function, the motors are controlled by the SCM. I had a similar problem with my driver seat not moving in any direction but bolsters worked. Also the telescopic steering column didn’t work. It turned out to be a broken wire A6 in the C3 connector of the SCM. Others with more experience May give deeper info. Good Luck
I had a problem where I could only move my seat backwards using the memory button, the switch did not affect it at all. It turned out to be a broken brown wire from the switch to the module.
NCali, that’s what my seat did. I could make it fail by pressing on the seat cushion above the switches. Then the bug went solid and I found the broken +12v wire on the SCM.
Well after replacing the switch on the drivers seat, the bolsters would work but the seat wouldn't move. I then ordered a module (The one under the seat). It came in Saturday and that fixed my problem. Thanks for all the input.
