Knocking noise at idle
Need help locating an intermittent knocking noise coming from the area around the passenger side of the bellhousing on my 2002 MN6 coupe. The knocking occurs only at idle and only at operating temperature. The knocking stops when I put a little fore or aft pressure on the shifter, or when I step on the clutch. It sounds like the shifter linkage is hitting its enclosure but, naturally, the knocking failed to occur when I took it to the dealer. I couldn't see too much when I got under the car. A change to the Hurst had no effect. Anyone had this problem? Thanks.
