Buying a 1999
I've had several classic cars in the past and I am now looking at a 1999 Corvette but have some questions regarding some existing issues with it. The car has over 140k miles, service steering column lock message, battery drain within 3-5 days, and a minor transmission leak. Are these common issues with C5's

I don't know about the minor transmission leak being a common issue with a C5, but the service steering column lock message, and battery drain are common to C5's. Most owners install a LMC5 harness to eliminate the service steering message but the steering wheel does not lock afterwards. The battery drain issue requires testing to pin point what is causing excessive current drain while the car is parked, referred to as sleep mode. Good luck.
