Default 98 c5 cam supporting mods

I have a 98 base c5 with headers and am about to put a cam in it.
Can I tune on stock 98 ecu? Do I need to do anything for fueling or will my stock pump and injectors be okay?

You can use your stock pump and injectors for a cam only, depending on the size cam and other mods I believe... someone correct me if I’m wrong. A lot of cam only cars on stock injectors and pump tho. U will need a tune afterwards. What cam?

For a cam only car fuel wont be your limiting factor, usually its FI that forces fuel system upgrades. And I don't see any reason why a 98 PCM couldn't be tuned accordingly. Supporting mods for a cam are typically valve train related as well as things like an oil pump that have to come off for a cam install anyway. I'd look into springs, push rods, rocker upgrades, timing chain, oil pump, valve seals and even though you'll read everywhere that lifters arn't necessary they do fail eventually and cause a much bigger issue (ask me how i know) and theres really never a better time to change them then when ur doing a cam anyway. Usually the "cam packages" at most retailers will come with a lot of this stuff. Then plan to bring it somewhere to get tuned.

Remember that the heads have to come off to swap out the lifters, so have to factor in this additional labor, in case you are estimating what it might be..
