It's been about 6 years since my last post on here. Sold my vette(I know....Stupid). Anyway, found one just like the one I sold, 2004 Vert with 64,000 miles on it. Haven't completed purchase yet(still negotiating with the owner), but I am in possession of the vette. Last night, I noticed when I locked it, no lights flashed and no horn sound. Also, fog lights do not work. No light on the dash and none out front. Nothing when I press the horn on the steering wheel.
Welcome back and soon to "congratulations". Checking all fuses should be your first go at this. The horns can seize up due to corrosion if not blown out every so often. The location lower front passenger side is where the horn assembly sits. Did you ask the soon to be PO of these items you discovered?
you might also check if the membrane pad in the steering wheel works,
I replaced my horns , and now time has taken its toll on my horn switch , I have to press in the right spots to get function, . Luckily there is now a replacement part, I have read a lot of posts about home made parts made from blood pressure cuffs and whatever guys could dream up, in the past, sheesh. I wasn't looking forward to that situation.
