Good morning. It's been a while since I've been on. So had the car out the other day for a ride (2000 A4, bolt ons), came home and parked it in the driveway. Went out yesterday and no crank. All lights on the dash come on, fuel pump primes, but no clicks. Here are the previous things that have been done.
New ignition switch this winter- AC Delco
LMC5 with brown wire mod this winter

Battery is 3 years old.
I did try to jump it with no success. I think I will go for the signal wire at the starter (and looks for burnt wires). Anyone have any suggestions before I climb underneath her?
Does the "Security" light go out when you put the key in? Try another key, clean the pellet on you key.
Also make sure it is in PARK. Maybe move the shifter through it travel then back to park and try it.

Also check if terminal C2 on TDR relay is getting 12 volt signal from Fuse 50 and the ignition switchwhen you try to start .
Is term A1 on the TDR relay grounded by the BCM when you try to start ?
Yes, I’d check that wire at the starter solenoid...believe it’s purple...also while your down there check the power and ground battery connections down there...also if you have a test light connect it to battery negative...connect the tip to the starter case...have someone try to crank the engine (be careful) and the test light should NOT light !!...if it does check the ground side of your starter system !!
Update. The issue is in the ignition switch. I just replaced it 2 months ago with a new one. i have all electronics but no crank. When I play with the key, it will occasionally engage the starter. My key has a lot of play in the cylinder and I'm wondering if the cylinder being so worn can be the culprit.

Hey Rob, yes I checked the starter connections first and everything checked out. I have narrowed this down to a problem in the switch.
