Over the years I have seen a number of threads on this topic...I am sure you can find if you search. I would use google and include "corvette forum" in your search...I rarely have much luck with CF's search.
Yes, a number of owners have done this. You will need someone or a dealer with a Tech 2 to program out the magnetic ride control in the BCM (not sure if this is where it resides). There are instructions contained on this forum on how to do this.
[QUOTE=Hitman_396;1601248302]That's an interesting comparison c5z shocks vs c6z shocks, cars weigh about the same almost, I'd think they'd be somewhat similar..
GM wanted to crack the 8 minute mark at Nurburing in a Corvette so they had Heinracy revalve the C5Z shock for 2004. Since the shock was available for only one year of production the bean counters priced it higher than the original C5Z. For the C6 model year, the C6Z shock was revalved for a heavier chasis, however the management at Corvette operations wanted targeted the C6Z for a touring market. As a result the shock was valved between a 2001-2003 Z and the 2004Z shock. When the Chief Engineer position was changed, before the C6 introduction, the new management team wanted a better shock for the C6Z but the bean counters said it was too late to change as all the specs/orders/ lead times were committed.

Nice, very interesting I did not know this ^^^^^. I did notice my 2004 Z shocks were very planted, no real complaints on this side.

Thank you, you articulated the differences much better than I could have.
