My 98 C5 is throwing a code that’s is for a secondary air pump. Apparently this part is no longer available from GM. How do I bypass It so I can Clear the code.
Yes you do. They make plates to block it off, usually you can find on Amazon or EBay. I deleted mine, put the plates on, then took it to a shop to have codes removed and the check engine light turned off. They also tuned the car as well so it runs a little better. The tuner told me the C5 runs a little rich from the factory so he fixed that as well. Like neutron said, I donated all of the parts to the trash bin...
I just removed mine. Didn't take long. Plug the vacuum line and then tie up the wires and line so they aren't just dangling. I did it when I replaced my headers, so all the piping and crap are out of my engine bay. There is a fuse to pull as well. I can't remember right off hand which one it is. Then HP tuners the code out of existence and go on with your life.
Ecklers has the block off plates: https://www.ecklerscorvette.com/1998...let-black.html. You can definitely find them cheaper, but these look good. I've read on numerous forums where folks just make their own out of sheet metal and I actually did that at first, just wasn't happy with the way it looked. I think the fuse is the big fuse 51 in the panel by the battery. That will kill power going to the pump. If you are throwing a P0410 code, then that fuse is probably blown anyway.
