Default AIR system

I’m wanting to delete the AIR system and put block off plates on the headers. Does the AIR system constantly pump air into the headers or is it only on startup??
I pulled the fuse for the AIR pump because I was trying to determine if it was the source of what sounds like an exhaust leak. Surprisingly with the fuse pulled it didn’t throw any codes?! It may be in my head but it seemed to sound a little quieter with the fuse pulled.

it only pumps air into the headers at start up. If I remember correctly it does it for about 15 seconds then shuts off. Someone else may know better than me on the exact amount of time it pumps air. As far as the P0410 code, it will eventually throw it, just be patient. It took a little time before mine threw a code.

whoever tuned your car may have deleted the code, that's a pretty common practice

So there’s no real way to check and make sure it’s been tuned out? Just drive around for awhile with the fuse out and wait for the cel to come on?
