Default HELP: Actuators

The dash is out. I’m trying to replace the HVAC actuators. Why do the sleeves (openings) on the new actuators look perpendicular to the shafts coming out of the heater box?

I’ve tried turning the shafts but can’t get them to line up???? It’s like the flat stops on the shaft are at 12 and 6 on a clock face but on the actuators it’s 9 and 3?
I can’t turn the gears in the actuator, can I?
Thanks in advance.

plug them in and turn your key on..they should move to the current position......you can make sure they work before you install them...

Default Thanks

Thanks for the fast response. It’s a cold garage out here. I’ll try that. You’re saying if the connectors are on the actuators, the openings will turn to fit the shafts even though they’re not Attached to the shafts?

if I am understanding your question I think you are saying that the new actuators are in a different position than your shafts in the car. If that is correct then when you turn the car on and turn on the HVAC control with the new actuators plugged in you should be able to get them to move to where you need them.. I suspect they are still the position they were in when you removed the old ones

Default One more thing

So I leave the heat and air off when I turn the heater on? Or on and adjust the controls to change the temperature just a few degrees? Thanks

Default Thank you

Yes, the shafts are not aligned with the actuators, which I connected and have laying nearby.
Tried to turn on A/C and heat until they matched up. Still can’t quite get them to align.
I’m sure I’m missing something obvious.
