I just got an oil analysis report back from Blackstone and it confirmed that I may have a problem. I’ve been chasing down valvetrain noises for awhile now and according to the report there may indeed be a problem. Not sure what move to make next. Here’s the report. Thoughts?
I have 74k miles on it now with 57k in it when I bought it. About 1500-2000 miles ago I have a shop put in a cam, springs, pushrods and lifters.. other than that the motor is stock. Never sees the track and rarely touches redline. I drive it relatively easy and baby it. Change the oil religiously.
If the stock valve guides were kept they should be made from powdered and impregnated metal or a cast iron type of material. (not bronze like aftermarket heads use)
