are you talking about the spring pin that holds the linkage to the trans?... I don't see why you couldn't use something else that fits if you lost the original one

I have reused them and haven't had an issue, if there's nothing wrong with the one you have I think you will be fine

I found it and slapped it in a baggie. A baggie for every small part. A small part for every baggie. Lol. It is a cheap and effective way to organize nuts and bolts when you take an entire car apart. Now if I have any left over I know I screwed up big time!
