First off, this is my first post so hopefully it’s in the right spot.
Now on to the issue, after quite literally 6 months of debating the Corbeau a4 or the Corbeau evo x for my 03 Z06 I finally pulled the trigger on the evo x. I ordered them from racing seats usa and received them in a matter of 4 days. I’ve done my fair share of research on here and watched every YouTube video on the install about 4 times. I struggled with this install for almost 6 hours over the span of two days and came to the conclusion I had received faulty brackets. I could only get either the front holes ore the rear holes on the bracket mounted, but not both. With the seats in the car I COULD NOT get them to move forward or backwards unless I sat in the seat and pushed against the floorboard like a leg press!!!! All of the installs that I have seen, it took people an hour max to do this simple mod. I called Corbeau directly and emailed them pictures and they said they could male custom brackets if I could Brackets if I gave them measurements from the studs but I’m concerned that with a custom bracket the seat might not fit because of how narrow the cab is. Some insight or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated, thank you
Strange...I have the exact same setup that I installed almost 5 years ago so it's a bit fuzzy in my memory. I seem to remember having some difficulty getting the sliders mounted to the seat properly or the bracket mounted to the slider... I can't remember if I had to embiggen any holes or not. Is your issue really with the bracket where it mounts to the floor? You should not need a custom bracket. Corbeau should be shipping quality parts that fit every time. All of our cars are the same so I would just tell them to ship you parts that fit.
Toque, who has left the C5 community, still maintains his website which was very helpful to me when I did my A4s. Have you swapped the driver seat to the passenger side? I do now know if the Evo X seat requires this, but the A4 does unless you want to cut the panel over the seatbelt retractor.
As for the brackets themselves, mine were still very tight. Part of my issue was getting them to sit low enough to start threading the nut. And even then the front would go on but the rear I needed to sit on the seat to get it to the right geometry to align with the bolt and go down. Worst case, I wouldn't be afraid of some slow and careful massaging of the hole with a drill. But check Toque's guide and try swapping seat sides first.
So, the trouble is mounting the seat to the brackets? About having issue with moving the seat in the car....I cut off the seat belt mounting bolt flush with the retaining nut, doesn't seem like much but I think the protruding end of the bolt was digging into the console side carpet.

I don't remember if it was both seats or just one seat, but when I got my Corbeau Evo X seats, I noticed that at least one of my brackets had that issue too. The root cause of my issue was that the center-to-center dimension of the bracket holes did not match the seat. They were off by not much, maybe 1/16"-1/8", so I was able to "rework it" myself with a drill bit. I drilled out the hole in the bracket into the direction of the interference. I didn't return the brackets since I was pretty confident in just reworking was going to solve my issue, and it did.
2X on what the other posters have said. Corbeau seats are OK, bur for Corvettes, their frames and sliders leave a lot to be desired. I posted a writeup I did in 2011 or so about my experience with Corbeau A4's in my old C5 FRC. Rather than make you search for it, I'll attach it again.
I'm just finishing putting FX1 Pro Corbeau seats in a 2002 Z06 I bought this winter that will be a track car. I would have gone with another brand, but a friend gave me a FX1Pro, so it was worth the effort to solve the problem of LTA Corbeau frames and sliders.
My experience with C5 seat studs is they are accurately placed, so your problem is not variance with the location of the hold down bolts. The problem with C5's is that the seat belt retractor is low, and this causes the seat well to have funky offset footprint. Since I have a mill and welding equipment I made my own frames.
I am asking as I just bought a Corbeau Eco X seat and seat mount for the driver's side of my C5. I tried to install it tonight and found the seat interfered with the seal belt retractor. HARD. See below.
Corbeau Evo X seat and seat mount interfering with seat belt retractor
The seat frame is has two net zero holes to the seat (rear) and two net zero holes to the body (rear). No cross-car adjustment.
I have EVO X seats, mine rub against the seat belt plastic but not terribly. You may have to redrill holes in the brackets? I was advised by Corbeau to drill new holes in my brackets but they were older, I bought them used from someone here on the forum.
Update: I redrilled my Corbeau seat brackets to move the seat 1/4” inboard relative to the seat bracket, This was just enough to clear the seat belt retractor and barely clear the seat belt latch. Weather prevented a test drive today.
