Cigarette lighter floppy door fix
The door would open and close and stay in those positions. But it had very little spring pressure and didn't feel right. I couldn't just flip it with one finger. Basically the spring is allowed to excessively move and fall into the doors hole.
Assuming the parts are not broke there are two things we can do to make it work properly.
1. Add a washer to the spring perch on the door. This keeps the spring from turning sideways and falling into the hole.
2. More tightly control the axle of the door -to- bezel. This prevents the door from moving radially around its hinge / axis and exacerbating the loose spring situation.
By leaving the drivers side alone, adding the plastic washer to the doors spring perch, and adding a rigid axle (small screw) the door now feels proper. It clearly feels right when closing and opening.
