Default accidentally pulled out a brake line

Last August, after the "Dream Cruise" on Woodward in Detroit we pulled up to a restaurant parking spot ,BUT THE CURB WAS ON AN ANGLE and took out a brake line on the left side of my 2002 corvette. It appears to be the REAR BRAKES. When I finally got under my car yesterday, I noticed a rubber line that looked like it may have been pulled.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Cost , labor etc. How much do these rubber lines cost? Do they run all of the way back to the back brakes or are the coupled closer to the front?

I'm going to get some DOT 3 brake fluid today to try and pinpoint the problem.

I'll try and get some pictures.

Any fluid leak? I'm betting its your parking brake cable.

Brake lines are inexpensive. Looks like you need a rear line which couples between the rear caliper and a bolted clip in that rear fender well.

And a flush and bleed. Well, you don't have to flush the system but it is a good idea since old brake fluid becomes corrosive.

No idea on cost, it would take me, a 75 year old, an hour plus fluid and a $20 hose. Dealers are more.

The only rubber lines in the brakes are at each wheel. It should not be possible to pull apart a brake hose when driving the car. So, you also need figure out why it happened and take steps to ensure the line is safe.

I also think that the OP is going to have to bleed the ABS unit, as well.

So I have updated this in my other thread. This "accident" was really a blessing in disguise because the STEEL brake lines are rusted under my car. They could have failed at any time without warning. It looks like a line rusted out near the left side rail at the front at one of the 90 degree bends.
