This is what I did for the set-up on my 04 stick vert. Street and no tracking in the selection of parts. Keep in mind that suspension geometry/ratios must be kept relatively proportionate to spec in order to prevent understeer/oversteer concerns.
I assembled the following for my car and it handles very well for a Vert:
C6 Z06 shocks (AC Delco)
C5 Z06 front sway bar
C6 Z51 rear sway bar
Poly bushings
Metal end links (if not already equipped)

I sourced the sways used. The shocks and end links were new.

I started with a base suspension '97 coupe. I installed C6 Z-51 sway bars w/metal end links and C6 Z-06 shocks. Very happy with the way the car handles. No body roll...just stays planted.

Thanks for the in put looks like c6 shocks are the general consensus here and other places I have researched,,, thanks for the Input and I did replace the old factory end links first when I put new brakes and rotors on and I did see a difference that’s what got me thinking about shocks and sway bars!!

C6Z shocks are popular because they're cheap, 2004 C5 Z06 shocks are a better choice here.

I just replaced my shocks for c6Z shocks in my base model C5 yesterday. Do you have the base springs?

Yes, I kept the base springs. Better compliance on the street IMO. If this was a track car, I would have upgraded the springs as well, but for the street, I like the combo I have.
