My engine light is not working?
So I bought I c5 corvette with low miles but when I turn the key to the acc position the engine light doesn’t turn on. Could it be possible that the previous owner cut the wires to fool me? If so can I take him to court for “lying”? Also could I still run codes at autozone or anyplace without the engine light showing? I have all his info so I definitely don’t mind paying him a lil visit if I fix the check engine and the light pops up and stays on after turning it on.

Josh, welcome to the Forum and congrats on your purchase...the C5 has a “built in” code reader through the DIC !!...see video below and let us know what you find and there are DTC’s (codes) that with not illuminate the MIL (engine light) and some will. I moved your thread to the Tech section. Oh, BTW he may have removed the bulb and not cut any wires and please put as much info about the car in your profile if you haven’t done that...it helps us help you !!
