Bye Bye Goodrigdge SS Brake Lines --- Bye Bye Codes..
Just what I thought.. all the code problems I've been having with traction control, ABS, active handling, etc., disappeared today.. as soon as I removed the Goodridge Stainless Brake Lines....and went back to stock ones.
Do you have the new longer ones? I had all the code problems with the Russel SS lines. I installed the new Goodridge SS lnes and all the code problems disappeared. Many other guys here on the Forum switched the new Goodridge lines and all their code problems stopped. Sounds like they weren't installed correctly....its a grounding problem that throws the codes.
I installed them myself.. cant imagine how they would have been installed incorrectly..... you connect one end to the metal brake line and the other gets bolted, between two copper washers, directly to the caliper.. how could it NOT be grounded??? I bought these from LAPD less than a month ago. When I originally posted about the codes problem, I heard from probably 20 different people who had the same experience..

I don't understand how they could not be grounded either!
I have the russell lines and never get any codes. :yesnod:
When I first installed the Goodridge lines I had a code as well on the DIC, but then I disconnected the battery waited a few minutes, reinstalled the cable and never again saw the codes. I did a search on corvetteforum long before I bought them to see if their were any problems and I read that Goodridge was the only lines that didn't continously throw codes. Good Luck though.
I installed the goodridge SS line less than a month ago and I have no codes. Also installed them on a friends car 2 weeks ago and his is fine as well. We did install the longer lines up front and routed them like this:
I lowered the cars onto rhino ramps and turned the wheel side to side to make sure the lines where not making any contact.
I guarantee if Tom put them in they were NOT installed wrong.
By seeing all the work he has done on his car I would have to agree :) I just cant figure why they would do that though. What does grounding have to do with anything? The only thing there is the wheel speed sensor and thats an AC signal I believe.
Maybe a defective set. Send them back....from experience here on the Forum, the Goodridge lines have solved many "code" problems. hope it works out for you.
