Default TPMS pair outside tires
Can you pair (or reset) new C5 TPMS sensors to the car without having them in the wheels? Donut magnet would fit better that way if it works.

Just need to make sure you keep track of which sensor is assigned to each wheel.

You can, in fact I'd recommend it to ensure they pair and hopefully are functional before you install them.

You don't need a doughnut magnet if it's powerful enough.
