Default ARH vs LG

Does anybody have any comparisons to the 1 7/8 American racing versus 1 7/8 LG pros on a basic C5 six speed manual cam shaft only car? Thanks.

Yes. My buddy has arh, I have LG.

ARH = premium USA made product for a premium price. I’ve never seen a set not fit well and the joints make it very serviceable. Heck another friend bought a used set for his challenger and ARH sent him fasteners for free.

LG= garbage over seas product for premium price. Flanges were warped from their very poor AIR pump block off “welding” primaries hit bell housing, the “Stainless” is rusting on my car and others I have seen. Not to mention that if you have an issue with something, you are ignored. Oh and the entire system is slip fit joints which offer very very poor serviceability.

If your choice is between “premium” brands, Buy ARH.

I gotcha. Thanks a bunch for your info. 👍 was thinking about the Pfadt system as well.. looks like a awesome set of headers. I don’t mind paying a little extra For Quality. Lol. I was told that the pfadt makes really good power on the stock cam shaft But when you go to a bigger cam With a tighter lobe separation the tri-y’s don’t make as much power as the standard 4 into 1 collector Headers. Would be nice to know the facts. Lol thanks again.

LG's long tube quality has gone down from previous years, I'd go with ARH, also 1-3/4 primaries should be enough for a Heads/cam car?

I bought a set of LG pro long tubes 11 years ago for my base C6 Z51 LS3 car they were nice then but that was 11 years ago. From what I’ve seen in the past the 1 7/8 is the way to go for a really big cam shaft LS1 car. Cars that break 500 WHP that is.

I have LG Pros 1.75" purchased a couple years ago. They make great power but they hang down lower than their early headers.

They are about the same as the LG Streets in this topic.

I will go with ARH or Kooks in the future and interested to hear C5 Pfadt install experiences.

Also Kooks and Stainless Works.

But for less quality metal but still amazing fitment TPS RPM 1 7/8 headers are great.

Stainlessworks also does a 3" system. The link looks like a chambered system but you select the system, turbo muffler and 3" and it is a typical muffler.

Interesting that LGM switched to oversees. I literally have the first set of LGM Long tube pro headers made as a result of my professional relationship with Borla (when they first came out that is who made them). They still had grease pencil writing on them and true merge collectors.

Anyway, I run them on my current set-up, here is a pic of them when this build got underway last year.

That 434 could use some 1 7/8", how much do you want for those?

Hey another 20 Yr member, cool !

Trouble is you cannot get as long of a primary 32” AND a proper merge collector with any other option or size due to packaging constraints unless I am mistaken. The merge collector acts similar to when you put your thumb on a hose (but with the exhaust gas).

If bigger headers would have helped add “much” HP/TQ I would have just added them to the build but they offer minimal gains (if any) on even a 434ci engine and I do not know if I can get a proper merge collector. If they sounded “deeper” I would probably get them. Likely it would raise my peak HP at 7200 RPM or whatever which is unnecessary. Car is a handful at 3100 lbs.

Engine break in at Westech
