Hello Iam in Northern Virginia just bought a 98 C5 last friday 140k on the od..Very nice car with a few issues that I plan to correct. The last two days I have read many threads on this site and watched many youtube videos. My issues are.:
1.Horn not working I watched the video on trouble shooting the system and replacing assembly in steering wheel..
2. My suspension is too stiff for me and ride height is to low. The car has 18" wheels front and 19" rear with Z06 brakes, koni shocks all around.
Sat my plan is to check the suspension futher .
How can I tell if suspension has been modified ? ie sway bar, leaf springs etc,I know poly bushing are a mod.
How much stiffer are Koni shocks over OEM?
Thanks, Frank

Frank, welcome to the Forum...last week I found out that my horn is inop too !!...if you hit the panic button on your FOB does the horn work ??..well mine works so I have diagnosed 90% of the electrical circuit...dos your horn work ??...in the pic the blue highlighted area is the part of the circuit that is good by pushing the panic button....the yellow is where I have to concentrate on...most likely a faulty horn membrane but still want to check !!

My FOB is not working that is another issue. What number is the fuse inside the car on pass side? Where are the horns located? i could run a hot wire to them to test them.
Also I can hear the relay click in eng compartment.

As in the diagram fuse #11 and the relay is #36...if you were to remove the relay and jump pins 87 and 30 (load side feed) you send 12 volts directly to the horns..the horns are located behind a removal panel forward of the right front tire...I believe there are 6 screws or so holding it in...and yes always check the simple thing first...the fuse...I troubleshot a friends 04 and his horns were shot !!...I checked for power and ground at the horns and they were good but no horns !!

I've done the horn membrane on mine. If you're mechanically inclined, it's not a super difficult job. Just make sure that's your problem first.
