Security Light On Intermittent Won't Start
For past two months I have occasionally seen the security light on while driving. I tried the other original factory key and the same issue arises. Clean the VATS pellet with rubbing alcohol and blew some compressed air into the ignition lock cylinder. Now more recently (this week) the car flat won't start. Take key out and back in and sometimes it will start again. So far have not been stranded but getting annoying. I have marked the keys for the right side and it doesn't seem to matter which way the key is inserted. The only items on the key ring is the key, fob and a corvette metal key tag.
Check the codes and the only current one is for 10-PCM P0410
under the historical codes the relevant ones appear to be
40 BCM B2721 and B2723 which are the PASS Key detection circuit
AO- LDCM B2282 and 2284 which is battery #1 and #2 fault, B2252 Key Cylinder Switch Fault, U1255 Serial data line malfunction, U1064 Loss of comm with BCM, and U1096 loss of comm with IPC, also U 1016 which means ?
A1-RDCM has similar code B2283 and B2285 which is battery #1 and 32 fault (as well), the same U1255 Serial data line malfunction. U1064 Loss of comm with BCM. and U1096 loss of comm with IPC, also U 1016 which means ?
Thinking it might be an battery issue I had the 2 year old battery tested at Autozone and they confirmed that a plate was bad and replaced it. They confirmed the new battery passed the load test and charged it to 100%. At first after repalcing the battery inthe lot it wouldn't start but finally after multiple curses and attempts it fired up.
I typically only use the one key for the Corvette and keep it plugged into a pulse trickle charger.
Not sure why I don't have more current codes and at a loss. If I can get it started, I plan on putting it up on the ramps and checking the grounds underneath.
Thoughts??
