I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. If you're asking what mods you can do and still have it be a good daily driver, I'd say:

Blackwing or similar air intake
TTS long tube headers (more torque down low than other headers...better for around town tooling)
Some form of exhaust, based on what you think sounds good.

That's if you want to keep it cheap.

Intake (airbox/filter) and exhaust are normally the first mods. The exhaust won't free up much power, but it will sound sooooo much better. The intake could be good for 20+ rwhp.

From there, the sky's the limit. I believe there are guys with daily drivers that have heads/cam packages, and probably even some guys with superchargers. You can add a lot of power to a C5 and retain it's driveability.

Transmission/gearing is another common performance mod. Even a bone stock C5 can use much lower gearing (higher numeric ratio) while retaining it's driveability (including mileage). A4's often add shift kits and replace the torque converter. M6's don't really have any mods except the shifter, but the guys who do replace their shifters are generally very happy with the upgrade.

There is a huge number of mods that can be done and still be driven every day. What you choose will depend on your budget (as soon as part is labeled Corvette duehichy the price goes up) and what you want to do with the car.

If you are thinking hp increase a cold air intake will provide the biggest bang for your buck. Exhaust system, headers, even a mild head and cam package can be added and still maintain daily driver usability.

Aside from power improvements there are appearance and handling mods. You you might, as some have, elect to install an exhaust system just for a more aggressive sound.

It is all a matter of individual taste and an how you judge the value of each item especially given the very high price of some of the mods out there.

What else is in your plans with the car like do you want to road race or drag race or autocross?

If you just want a little umph extra and open air box and a cat back exhasut will help it breathe better.

Many boltons and even heads/cam will still work well for a daily driver. :D
