Hi
I have a 1999 C5 and this morning it decided not to start. When I turn the key everything lights up but no start.I think its the key itself so I tested it with an ohm meter and I get 603 . Looking at the chart tells me i am at number 2 at the lowest 523 ohms and number 3 at the highest 681 ohms.
Im not sure what to do next I didnt think my key would show 603.
Anyone know which number of VAT would work....???
Thanks
Dan
I had the same issue, had new keys made still wouldn't start. Next I changed the ignition switch (Not the tumbler) The terminals were burnt and dirty.
Vette started right up and no problem sense.
If it is your key the Security light will not turn off, it will remain on or flashing. The first thing to do is check that your battery is fully charged and battery cables are clean and tight at the battery and at the starter solenoid. Your no start could be several things as well, bad ignition switch contacts, your Park safety switch if auto, or clutch depressed switch, TDR " theft deterrent relay", or it could be your starter. Try to find out what is causing your no crank problem before you start just replacing parts.
