Low RPM

I recently bought a 2004 C5 with 142k miles. It runs great but the RPMs never get past 1500 even at 70 mile an hour or so. Any ideas?

So when you floor it, it shifts at 1500?

Sounds like a tach signal or step motor issue in the cluster. I can't imagine anyone would say the car runs great with it shifting at 1500 rpm. I could be wrong though.

He didn't mention shifting only tack will not go above 1500. Sounds like something wrong with tach. Will tack go up if your rev it up or is 1500 max period, if so something a miss on your tack.
