Automatic Trans issue

Been looking for a C5 to modify and was approached by a seller with a 2003 that he is selling but he says its runs fine except that to get it to shift into second gear he has to lift off the gas pedal and then it shifts. All other gears are fine. I searched on here and dont see anyone claiming to have had this issue so I thought I would ask for ideas on what it could be. The car is selling at a decent price if it doesnt need a new transmission but I have no idea what it may be.

It could be low fluid due to an improper change, but before buying, you should have a transmission shop diagnose.

Mine was doing that, it’s actually skipping second and going to third. I would have someone check it out before buying.

It’s going to need a rebuilding or replacing,it would have to be a great deal for me to buy. If I was you I’d keep looking. Good luck with your search.
