Another thing to try - on each headlight there are four plastic bump stops, two for opening and two for closing. You can pull those off and turn them around 180 degrees. Over time the mechanism digs in to the stop. Flipping them gives it a new surface to stop against. Usually happens to the close stops though.
Do you have LED headlights? If you do, and they are like mine, you have to turn off the lights before turning off the car. The LED headlights don't draw enough voltage to activate the headlight close.
