so im having a problem with my ignition. prior to installing my pioneer double din it would start up just fine(had a cd changer wired in from 15+years ago) i removed all the cd changer crap, installed double din like normal no corners cut everything went smoothly untill i went to start it and turned the key nothing. if i kept cycling it fast it starter would click and click then at random turn on. so i started digging. i replaced the ignition switch, didnt change anything. i cleaned all grounds in the engine bay still nothing, i tried putting a resistor on the 2 VAST wires (white black /white purple) still nothing. then i said hmm lets unplug the vast (from where it connects to the ignition cylinder did the same thing but it still started with the vast disconnected.... im super lost at this point. all fuses were checked and working. i did not splice anything in the harness when installing the new radio it was plug & play.
This doesn't feel like a great question to ask, but are you sure your battery didn't drain too far? Have you tried charging it or jump-starting the car? Have you tried unplugging the stereo to see if that somehow makes a difference?

brand new battery. it will start if i jump the red purple wire on the theft deterent relay. i went to test the solid yellow wire and it came back with 12v when cranking and the black yellow (ground) came back at zero. but i somehow started it while i had someone cranking it when i was testing the solid yellow wire... thinking its the theft deterent relay that has gone bad.
