light rattle with engine deceleration, ? transmission
I've noticed that when I am in 2, 3, or 4th gear and I take my foot off the gas, I get a light rattling sound from the front of the car. It isn't very loud, can't hear it with the windows open or the stereo on, and goes away if I give it some gas or I push the clutch down. The speed of the rattle parallels the RPMs, and it almost sounds like a tinny spinning or pinging sound. It is there whether the engine is cold or warm.
Any help with this would be appreciated. Does anyone else hear this in their 6 speeds ? Any idea whether this is normal transmission or engine noise ? Should I get this looked into ? The car seems to otherwise run great, and my guess at this point is that this is normal.
