My mother in law gave her 97 C5 to my son as a graduation present. It's not what you would call 'pristine' condition and we are having to tear it down to fix a bunch of stuff. It seems the more we dig the more we find.
I found a small gauge black with white stripe cable that had come off of something under the battery. It comes out of the harness below the fuse box and seems like a ground of some type. There is a chassis ground on the frame that has a side clip that doesnt have a cable connected to it. This is the only place I can find that it would connect to. There is no other cable damage in the area (ie battery leakage damage).
That is G104 and I can see there is a wire pulled out of that wire terminal that you have 1 wire that comes from the negative battery terminal attached to...there should be 2 wires on that ground stud for your model year...my 2001 has 3 wires attached there !!...Oh, and WECOME TO THE FORUM !!
