My C5 is used intermittently. Sometimes goes 2-3 weeks without starting. I have found the battery dead twice now. The car sits outside in the weather, not near an electric outlet. What kind of battery tender is available to prevent this recurring problem? Thanks.

@silverminevette If your car's sleep mode battery drain is within parameters (around 25mA), the Deltran Solar Battery Tenders could help with your battery health.
These battery tenders are fully automatic and won't overcharge your battery. They have 3 full models (panel with built-in controller) and a standalone controller, in case you already own a solar panel.

Do you have personal experience with this? Reviews on Amazon worry me.
Just another option is to install a quick disconnect at the negative battery connection. Although I drive year round (and my car also sits outside), sometimes in the Winter I am not able to drive because of the weather road conditions (snow, ice, salt)at least once a week so I disconnect. Although the battery will drain on its own without draw, it has not caused me a problem if I have to not drive for 2 weeks.
I have a battery tender Jr I believe. Its been plugged in all year so far with maybe one start up in there somewhere just to move the fuel in the lines around...
I haven't had time to mess with the car due to new baby and covid ****...
Hasn't hiccuped yet.
The CTEK one i had was junk, wouldn't stay in charge mode for more than a day for me. Bad piece maybe... didn't want to take any chances with it. Happy with the tender Jr.
I have 2 cars parked outside year round and both rarely used in the winter. I use a battery tender 800 which is water proof. I run a 25 foot tender extension from one of the cars so I can easily switch between the cars. It’s been buried in snow and drenched in rain. So far no problems.
