Mech fix steering column lock
Is there any way to mechanically disable steering lock on 1998 corvette, I don't want to mess with wiring as mine is different as it's converted to lhd, thinking maybe cutting off locking pin??

When the system fails the DIC shows "Service Column Lock" because being an integrated electrical system it has feedback to detect failures. In an electrical system there are notifications and responses to failure modes. Cutting off the locking pin doesn't do anything to fix the ELECTRICAL RESPONSE including the 2mph fuel cut speed limit. What about the wiring is different and what do you mean its "converted' to left hand drive? I've never seen a C5 that wasn't LHD. Where is the BCM?
